Opportunities for Youth Volunteers

Below are just a few ways in which youth and youth groups can volunteer!

Donation Drive: Are you and your friends great at getting donations?  You should host a donation drive for supplies to create outreach and/or welcome kits.  Outreach kits are essential to those experiencing homelessness, providing them with needed toiletries and supplies to keep them healthy and clean.  Often coming from homelessness or shelters, families moving into a home to call their own have nothing.  Welcome kits provide essential household supplies for our neighbors who need them them most. Volunteer individually or as a group.

Assemble Kits: Are you a natural organizer? Do you like hands-on work? Help our team by assembling outreach and welcome kits.  This volunteer opportunity is available following a donation drive or you and/or your group can supply the items needed for kit assembly.

Notes of Encouragement: It feels great to hear, "I'm proud of you" or "I believe in you."  Help us spread that message of positivity with our residents, both young and old, through notes of encouragement.

Day of Service: Do you enjoy getting outside, gardening, or yard work in general?  We have multiple opportunities for young people and youth groups to plant flowers, vegetables, and to assist with beautification projects at our properties.

Host a Benefit Birthday Party: Have a birthday coming up?  Have your guests bring items for outreach and/or welcome kits OR make a monetary donation to Housing for New Hope in your honor.  Just because you are young doesn't mean you can't have a BIG impact on the lives of our neighbors experiencing homelessness.

Host a RENT Party: Are you the host/hostess with the most/mostess?  Do you enjoy planning and facilitating a party?  This opportunity is for YOU to share the mission of HNH with your friends!  Check out past Rent Party photos and contact us for more information about this fun and exciting volunteer opportunity.

Host a Community Education Event:  Do you look away when you see someone who is homeless?  Do you want to help, but don't know how?  Invite us out and we'll give you some pointers on how you can help us prevent and end homelessness!  We will also cover basics on causes of homelessness and ways to be helpful when you encounter someone who is experiencing homelessness.

Contact us today to get involved with any of these opportunities.
