Program Description: Housing Administrative Coordinator





Housing for New Hope prevents and ends homelessness by providing access to housing, healthcare and integrated services in the Durham community. We currently have an opening for a Housing Stability Case Manager on our Rapid Rehousing team.


Position Summary

The Rapid Rehousing Program’s primary goal is to quickly rehouse homeless families who are transitioning out of emergency shelters into apartments in the community.  This position provides administrative support to the Rapid Rehousing team.


Reports to: Rapid Rehousing Program Manager



  • Maintain accurate client documentation in the HMIS (Homeless Management Information System) database

  • Coordinate the data flow of clients through intake, recertification, and discharge

  • Prepare intake packets and assist in scheduling client intakes

  • Assist in scheduling housing searches and client move-ins

  • Assist in identifying resources needed for client move-ins

  • Maintain and update client files

  • Handle incoming inquiries regarding the program and connect people to appropriate resources

  • Assist in tracking eligibility and expenditures to insure compliance with program guidelines

  • Maintain schedule of client contacts for team members

  • Support fundraising and community development projects of the agency

  • Attend monthly case management meeting with collaborative partners

  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development

  • Complete the monthly outcome report

  • Perform other duties as assigned.



  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Relevant experience working with individuals who are homeless or have low-incomes preferred

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Strong organization skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines consistently

  • Knowledge of HMIS preferred

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Maturity and professionalism in stressful situations

  • Compassion for people struggling with a variety of challenges

  • Flexible and adaptable work style
