The Stewards Fund has awarded a collaborative grant of $100,000—the first for that foundation—to support our Re-Housing Team, which is so critical to helping homeless households, who stay temporarily with our partner agencies, to find a home.
Since January 2010, the Re-Housing Team has been an essential part of Durham’s collaborative effort to end homelessness. Staffed by Housing for New Hope, located at Urban Ministries, and targeting homeless individuals and families served by Urban Ministries, Genesis Home, Interfaith Hospitality Network, and elsewhere, the Re-Housing Team has assisted more than 120 households (comprised of 280 men, women, and children) transition from homelessness to their own homes.
Also, the Stewards Fund also awarded us a $150,000 challenge grant. If we raise $150,000 in new contributions by the end of January 2012, the Stewards Fund will match it dollar for dollar. As we enter our twentieth year, it is an exciting opportunity for our supporters to double their support for our work. For more information about how you can help us meet the Stewards Fund challenge, contact Eric Breit at eric@housingfornewhope.org or 919.489.6282 x103.
Thank you, Stewards Fund!
